The Idea we named Angelarium!

The idea to create Angelarium arose from a need to create a place where people from different parts of the world from a wide variety of fields can pass on their unique knowledge and experience. As you can see in our short video, it is about forming a space in which seniors (Angels) can help the younger generation (Apprentices). Ten years ago, our idea was almost like science fiction, but thanks to the expanding reach of the Internet, it is a real tool that can change the lives of people in need of professional support. There are tens of millions of determined and energetic people in the world who can\t achieve their goals, because they lack knowledge - specifically the one coming from experience. Simultaneously, there is a host of experienced seniors who could provide them with the necessary support - benefiting both sides. What is vital, seniors by doing it will again feel needed, as it should be.

Why do we think it's needed?

Our world has become a global village. This allows us to make changes on a large scale and much faster than ever before. Thanks to that, the hope is to return to one of the rules that our ancestors lived by. In the tribal days every member of the community, particularly elders, had his/her unique value, a contribution based on the knowledge and experience of life, sought by the community, and from which others could draw and learn. At present, this knowledge and experience are increasingly moving away forever with their "vessels" because there is no one to pass them on to, and in addition they are often considered to be unnecessary. Despite broad access to knowledge through education, young people make a lot of mistakes on their paths. Only a lucky few get to meet a guide on their way. Those are the ones who more often and more quickly reach success in the end.

Why seniors?

When I tried to be a mentor once, I realized that anyone who is involved in ongoing professional and family matters, has simply too little time to properly support his Apprentice. Therefore, the idea of the Angelarium website, we decided to be based on seniors. They are the main holders of unique knowledge, and at the same time they still have the need for action and time to carry it out.

How it will work?

Our task, as a team developing portal Angelarium is to prepare a space where people from all over the world will be able to communicate their unique knowledge to others, using the worldwide Internet access. Each of us will become a senior one day, and might have time and desire to support people in need of unique experience. Angelarium is a portal, which is undergoing its construction phase. We are very open to all comments and ideas. If anyone is interested in working with us, do not hesitate to contact us.
Let\s take an example of a person who has an idea to create a public library in his community. Such a person decides that he/she needs help of a mentor and registers on our website. In a few sentences, describes his/her Project, providing the data needed to find a matching mentor (Angel). The Angelarium system then searches the existing database for an Angel that meets the criteria indicated in the description. It searches from people from different parts of the world and from a wide variety of fields. If in the database of the portal there are no Angels in such subject area, then our team carries out activities to find the appropriate person. The next step is a mutual acceptance of cooperation, preceded by a detailed presentation of the ideas/needs of the Apprentice. After the acceptance of Apprentice by Angel, they start running their Project. The duration of the Project is determined by its participants. If in the course of their work they find that they need additional support, another Angel may be invited to help out at any time. The whole Project can be carried and exhibited on the portal or with the consent of both sides can be in the private sphere of the website.
